WILTON, N.Y. – The Ulysses S. Grant Cottage opens Memorial Day weekend, welcoming visitors into the past.
The cottage, located in Wilton, was preserved and maintained after General Grant's death by a series of caretakers.
The building remains almost the same as it was during the Grant family's stay in the late 1800s, and many of the family's personal items remain on display. A short walk to the Eastern Outlook offers a spectacular view of the Hudson Valley, Green Mountains, and Catskills.
The cottage is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., and admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors, and children six and under get in for free. The home will be open on Memorial Day.
