RENSSELAER, N.Y.– The body of 25-year old John Dandrow, who went into the Hudson River while fishing from an Albany-area dock, has been recovered by authorities.
Police say witnesses reported
seeing the man go into the water around 7:30 p.m. Thursday after he dropped his
pole in the river and either fell or jumped in to retrieve it. Authorities used sonar to locate his body.
"Johns always loved fishing and making people laugh, this is tough. I've been here with his mom since 6 a.m. I hope we can find him quick- quick," said his cousin, Nicole Martin during the morning search.
Dandrow was taken to Albany Medical Center by the Rensselaer County Medical Examiner's Office pending an autopsy.
