ALBANY, N.Y. -- Albany police are investigating a shooting that occurred on Broad Street on Saturday.
Officers responded to the area of Third Avenue and Broad Street at 1 a.m. for a report of shots fired. When they arrived, officers located evidence consistent with gunshots.
About ten minutes later, staff from Albany Medical Center hospital notified police that a woman had walked into the emergency room with a possible gunshot wound to her leg.
The victim, a 21-year-old female from Albany, told officers that she was driving her vehicle in the area of Third Avenue and Broad Street, when someone fired several rounds into the driver's side door. She sustained a minor laceration to her leg, and she was treated and released.
