ALBANY, N.Y. -- As the busy summer travel season kicks into high gear police are reminding drivers of one critical thing -- Click it or Ticket.
The State Police are kicking off the annual campaign that issues a ticket to anyone officers catch not wearing their seat belts. Law enforcement agencies that share state borders say they are teaming up to provide increased seat belt enforcement.
This year, officers say they will be sending a zero-tolerance message to the public. The enforcement runs from May 20 to June 2, but officers are enforcing seat belt laws year-round.
