QUEENSBURY, N.Y. – It's not quite $590.5 million, but Saturday's Powerball drawing is still pretty exciting for a group of restaurant workers in Queensbury who say they hold a $1 million winning ticket.
The second-place $1 million winning ticket was purchased on Saturday at a Hess Express store in Queensbury, the store manager tells NEWS CENTER. The winners are a group of twenty employees from the 99 Restaurant on Aviation Road in Queensbury.
One of the waitresses, Ashley from Saratoga Springs, says she is among the 20 winners and they are claiming the winning ticket with the New York State Lottery in Schenectady sometime on Monday.
Each employee is expected to get around $50,000 before taxes.
One Powerball winner was sold at a supermarket in Florida, winning the highest Powerball jackpot in history. The winner has not yet come forward.
Saturday night's winning numbers were 10, 13, 14, 22 and 52, with a Powerball of 11.
