Police: Man kept dogs in bathroom for extended time

GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. - Police have arrested a Gloversville man for animal cruelty after they say he left two dogs in a bathroom for an extended period of time.

The Gloversville Police Department says 23-year-old Stephen Jacobs, of South Main Street, was arrested for cruelty to animals, a misdemeanor, following a complaint.

Officers discovered that two pit bull dogs were confined to the bathroom in the home for an extended period of time, causing them to defecate and urinate in their living area. Jacobs also failed to provide proper food and water to the dogs, police say.

He was arraigned and released on his own recognizance.
