SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The 9th annual Team Billy Ride & Walk for Research, which raises funds for brain tumor study, kicked off Sunday in Saratoga Springs.
Held in High Rock Park, the event is named for Billy Grey, a 12-year-old Saratoga Springs boy who lost his life because of a brain tumor in 2001. Since Billy's death, his father Ken Grey has been on what he calls a "riding crusade." He says his son was an inspiration and this was the least he could do to honor his memory.
The organization contributes to the Billy Grey Research Chair and raises funds for brain tumor research and has been successful in funding over $1,700,000 in grants through the National Brain Tumor Society.
