WINDHAM, N.Y. - The Greene County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene of a two-car accident in the town of Windham last Thursday morning in which a 71-year-old man was killed.
The accident happened around 7:50 a.m. on May 9th in the area of Route 23 and Cross Road. Upon arrival, one vehicle was heavily damaged in the roadway and another vehicle was heavily damaged into the guide wires, both with smoke coming from them.
One driver, identified as 71-year-old Donald Olson of Prattsville, was found unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene.
The second driver, 48-year-old Kathleen McNeil-Blout of Jewett, had to be extricated from the vehicle with serious injuries to her lower body and was transported to Albany Medical Center.
