SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - Two Capital Region residents are being presented with some big checks from the New York Lottery on Thursday!
The New York Lottery is says James Marx, a factory foreman from Schenectady, was presented with an early birthday - a check for $5 million, won from a "Set For Life" scratch-off ticket at a Scotia Stewart's Shop.
Robert Daniels, a retired Honeywell machine operator from Troy, was also presented with a big check on Thursday, a $1 million prize check won from a "20X the Cash" scratch-off ticket.
The two winners made state lotto history as the first statewide to have the choice to take their prize as an annuity or a lump sum thanks to a new jackpot payment option, instead of taking annual payments which used to be the only option for scratch-off lottery winners.
New York Lottery millionaire check presentations will take place Thursday morning at a Stewart's Shop in Scotia.
