ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Gov. Andrew Cuomo has begun a summit of New York business and government leaders to bolster tourism statewide.
The governor is trying to map out a better way to showcase New York state's seasonal attractions and boost businesses.
The event being held Wednesday at the Empire State Plaza is expected to continue into the early afternoon.
The focus will range from summer attractions such as Niagara Falls, the Erie Canal and Adirondacks to the rebuilding of boardwalks and beaches on Long Island hit hard by Superstorm Sandy last fall.
Cuomo has held previous summits to boost the Greek yogurt industry as well as the beer and wine industries. At each event, he has announced some regulatory change or other action intended to kick-start the business. A similar announcement is expected Wednesday.
