Police investigating alleged prostitution at Bennington spas

BENNINGTON, Vt. - Police and FBI officials executed search warrants at two spas in Bennington, Vermont on Tuesday to gather evidence as part of what police are calling an ongoing investigation into alleged human trafficking and prostitution.

Bennington Police say they received several letters and complaints shortly after the spas opened about a year ago claiming that customers were coming in from far distances to go to the spas at all hours of the day to participate in sexual activity. The spas are The Green Spa, located on Main Street, and The Cozy Spa on North Street.

Police say the spa owners and employees are all of Asian decent and they are in the U.S. legally, but that they may not be fully consenting to the alleged illegal activity.

On Tuesday, officials searched records looking for past transactions that may point to illegal activity. Police had translators on scene Tuesday assisting employees with interviews.

No arrests have been made at this time.
