QUEENSBURY, N.Y. - A Gansevoort man is accused of stealing property from a church found in his car when he was pulled over for driving while intoxicated, the Warren County Sheriff's Office says.
The Sheriff's Office says 23-year-old Daniel Manning was pulled over around 1:15 a.m. Monday after they received reports of a suspicious vehicle in the vicinity of Whispering Pines Apartments on Weeks Road in Queensbury.
Officers found Manning in a 2003 Toyota Camry at the intersection of Weeks Road and Route 9 and inside the vehicle observed electronics equipment, musical instruments, and several pieces of lawn and garden equipment.
A property check of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation Church, located on Weeks Road in Glens Falls, revealed that the building had been forcibly entered and property found in Manning's car was allegedly stolen from the church.
Manning was charged with third-degree Burglary and felony DWI, basked on a previous DWI conviction. He was arraigned in Queensbury Court and remanded to the Warren County Correctional Facility in lieu of $30,000 cash or $60,000 bond.
The investigation is continuing and additional charges are possible.
