LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – The entire Siena baseball team shaved their heads Sunday to support childhood cancer research.
Head-shavings are the signature event of the St. Baldricks Foundation. "Shavees" ask friends and family to make donations "on their head." Following their noon game against Canisius, players sat down for a cut.
"This is a project we've been working on since the start of the fall season, and it's something we're really looking forward to," said Coach Tony Rossi. "We've had a lot of people step up already, and that's key. When this weekend is over, we'll have raised a lot of money for a great cause."
By Wednesday, players and coaches had raised $4,400. Donations can be made online here.
