Jailhouse attack: Inmate burned by fellow inmate


FORT EDWARD, NY - The Washington County Sheriff's Office arrested an inmate accused of assaulting a fellow prisoner behind bars on Monday, April 30th.

According the Washington County Sheriff Jeffrey Murphy, the suspect, identified as 43-year-old Anthony Genier of Hudson Falls, poured hot water on the inmate causing third-degree burns. 

Genier was arrested at the Washington County Jail and charged with assault in the second degree, a class D felony. He was processed at the Fort Edward Office and arraigned in the Village of Hudson Falls while appearing for an unrelated charge.

The case is being forwarded to the District Attorney's Office for Grand Jury action.
