KINDERHOOK, N.Y. – A 22-year-old man is under arrest after police say he hit a pedestrian while driving an ATV intoxicated, and then fled the scene.

According to State police, Trevor Zolner was operating a 2002 Honda ATV in a northerly direction on the Concourse when he struck a 16-year-old pedestrian who was walking on the east edge of the roadway with a friend.

The victim was transported to Albany Medical Center by Valatie Rescue Squad where she was treated for a concussion, severely fractured right leg, kidney and liver injuries, as well as multiple pelvic fractures. Her friend was able to get out of the way of the ATV in time and was uninjured.

Zolner fled the scene only to be located by troopers a short time later. He was also transported by Valatie Rescue Squad to Albany Medical Center and treated for a fractured sternum and lacerations to his nose, face, both hands and both elbows. A 19-year-old passenger on the ATV declined medical help.

He was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, Leaving the Scene of an Accident Resulting in Serious Personal Injury, and multiple other vehicle and traffic law violations.
