Fallen trooper’s name added to Wall of Honor


ALBANY, N.Y. -- New York State Police today put fallen trooper, David Brinkerhoff on its Wall of Honor exactly six years after he was killed during a shootout with a suspect.

Trooper Brinkerhoff, stationed at the Coxsackie barracks was killed by friendly fire on April 25th, 2007.

He was with an elite group of troopers who stormed a Delaware County house, looking for Travis Trim, who was accused of shooting another trooper the day before. 

Brinkerhoff left behind a wife and 7-month-old daughter when he was killed. He was 29.

Every year, two road races are held in his memory; one in his hometown, near Buffalo and one at U-Albany, his alma mater.

U-Albany's Brink Five-K is Saturday.
