GLENS FALLS, N.Y. – Glens Falls Hospital participated in an emergency management exercise on Sunday to help evaluate agency response for a mass casualty event.
Held at Queensbury High School, the exercises included other emergency response and support agencies like sheriff's departments, fire departments and emergency service providers.
The exercise included the treatment of more than 50 "victims," a test of multiple interoperable communication systems, activation of the Hospital Incident Command System team, and response to injured school-age patients.
Besides the full-scale exercise, Glens Falls Hospital's Emergency Preparedness team holds monthly tabletop sessions for hospital leaders and local emergency response agency personnel.
