GUILDERLAND, N.Y. - Two people have been sent to the hospital after a temporary wall collapsed inside Crossgates Mall on Thursday afternoon.
The temporary wall collapsed inside the mall near the Dave & Busters restaurant construction site on the lower level of the mall around 12:43 p.m. Thursday.
Guilderland Police say the wall, made of metal studs and sheetrock, collapsed onto some customers. Two treated by Guilderland EMS and were taken to Albany Medical Center, one with a head injury and one with a back injury.
This wall is constructed to provide a barrier for new stores that are under construction and it is believed that a gust of wind blew through the site and blew down the wall.
Members of the Town of Guilderland Building and Zoning Department responded to the scene.
