ALBANY, N.Y. - The press office for the State Education Department says police were called in after a 'suspicious box' was left in front of a state education building on Washington Avenue in Albany late Thursday morning.
While investigating, Albany Police closed down Washington Avenue from Swan Street to Hawk Street. Police investigated the box, and determined the suspicion to be unfounded. Officials say the box had been left accidently in front of the building by a delivery person.
The scene is now clear and the road has been re-opened.
