ALBANY, N.Y. - Police in Albany are investigating an overnight drive-by shooting that killed a 26-year-old Troy man.

Albany Police Department Spokesperson Steve Smith says the shooting happened around 1:45 a.m. Thursday morning just outside of Nino's Bakery near the intersection of Central Avenue and King Avenue. Police say two individuals were shot and transported to the hospital.

Smith says 26-year-old Darzee Reid, a student at the Austin's School of Spa Technology, was fatally shot. A second man, 22-years-old unidentified man, was also shot with non-life threatening injuries.

This is the city's first homicide of 2013.

Police say the motive in the deadly shooting is unclear. Albany Police remained on the scene Thursday investigating.

"It's an ongoing investigation," said Smith. "Our investigators are working diligently right now. We're interviewing witnesses, they're canvassing the area."

Smith says if anyone has any information they can call APD's detectives division at 462-8039.
