CLAVERACK, N.Y. – A 22-year-old Hudson man is under arrest after allegedly engaging in sexual activity with a 15-year-old.
Manuel E. Carreras, 22, of Harry Howard Avenue in Hudson, was arrested Monday and charged with Rape in the 3rd-Degree and Criminal Sexual Act in the 3rd-Degree, both felonies.
The Columbia County Sheriff's office began an investigation on April 7 after receiving a report through the Social Service Child Sexual Abuse Referral that Carreras had gone to the home of a 15-year-old while her parents were asleep and engaged in sexual activity.
Carreras was taken into custody at the Sheriff's Office on Monday at 3:17pm by Investigators Patrick Logue and Mark Dunspaugh. He was arraigned in the Claverack Town Court by Judge Michael Brandon, Carreras was remanded to the county jail in lieu of $5,000.00 cash or $10,000.00 bail bond and ordered to return to court April 19th.
Columbia County Assistant District Attorney David Costanza and the Dr. Stephen and Susan Menkes Child Advocacy Center also assisted in the investigation.
