Memorial set up for Jonathan Blaney at intersection of Bloomingdale Ave and East Pine St in Gloversville
GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. -- A 9-year-old boy was killed Monday when he was struck by a pick-up truck while riding his bike in Gloversville, police say.
Police say the victim, 9-year-old Jonathan Blaney from Gloversville, passed away from injuries he sustained from the accident. He was hit at around 5:30 p.m. near the intersection of East Pine Street and Bloomingdale Avenue.
The driver, 49-year-old Brian Wilson of Gloversville, was driving a Dodge pick-up truck. Police say Wilson has not been arrested and is not facing criminal charges at this point.
This incident is still under investigation, as police look to interview witnesses, and more information is expected to be released.
