ALBANY, N.Y. -- Albany police are investigating a shooting that occurred on Central Avenue.
On Monday at 3:40 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of Central Avenue for a report of shots fired. When they arrived, officers located a 35-year-old female from Albany with a single gunshot wound to her foot. A second victim, a 23-year-old male from Albany, also sustained a single gunshot wound to his left hip.
Both victims were treated at the scene by Albany Fire Department personnel and transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital. Their injuries appear to be non-life threatening.
A person of interest is currently in custody, and police say it appears that this was a confrontation between people who are known to each other.
The investigation is still ongoing.
