TROY, NY – Police report a car vs. pedestrian accident on Hoosick Street Saturday night that occurred between 9:45 – 10 p.m.
The car was headed westbound down the hill and hit a woman near 25th Street. The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.
Authorities say that there were several witnesses to the accident, and that the woman was involved in a dispute with a man, and both had crossed Hoosick several times.
"The two were fighting, and going back and forth," police said. "We've attributed this accident to the actions of the pedestrian."
The woman was taken to Albany Medical Center with serious injuries, but none life-threatening.
The accident is still under investigation.
