Grand jury convenes in case of Rotterdam double homicide

ROTTERDAM, N.Y. -- Officials say a grand jury convened in Schenectady County Court this afternoon to discuss burglary charges facing Brice Rivenburgh, the man currently under investigation in the double homicide of on-and-off again girlfriend Jessica McCormick and her mother, Tammy.

Officials say they found 23-year-old Jessica McCormack and her mother Tammy McCormack dead in separate bedrooms of their inner drive home after responding to a fire call Wednesday morning.

According to police, Jessica's on and off again boyfriend Brice Rivenburgh has been arrested on burglary charges, and police say he's under investigation for the women's murders as well.

Police continue to investigate the homicides having yet to charge Rivenburgh with the killings.

"We're continuing to collect evidence we're continuing to follow up on leads in the case. It's an on-going investigation, but we don't have any new information to release," said Lt. Michael Brown of the Rotterdam Police.
