ARGYLE, N.Y. - The State Department of Labor reports a Washington County company in the village of Argyle is slated to lay off the remainder of their 183 employees before the company officially closed in 2014.
On Tuesday, Covidien, a medical device manufacturer located on Route 40 in Argyle, says the reason for filing is due to the plant closing for economic reasons. The expected closing date is June 30, 2014.
A total of 183 employees will lose their jobs between now and the closing as a result. The Dept. of Labor says none of these individuals are represented by a union.
