ALBANY, N.Y. -- As a part of National Prevent Child Abuse month, Capital District YMCA President David Brown joined key regional leaders Tuesday to detail a new initiative designed to protect children from abuse.
'Darkness to Light,' an advocacy group aimed at educating adults on how to recognize and react to signs of child sexual abuse will offer Capital District participants the opportunity to enroll in half-day training workshops.
Albany County District Attorney David Soares was among those to attend the announcement of the new partnership to prevent child abuse, which was unveiled at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Albany Branch of the Capital District, located at 616 North Pearl Street.
