Troy man to be sentenced for May shooting of teen

TROY, N.Y. -- Shateek Lanier, the 23-year-old man charged with attempted murder in the shooting of a 17-year-old Troy male in the city on May 29th faces sentencing Thursday morning.

Lanier, of 10th Street in Troy, had originally been charged with gang assault, but now faces upgraded charges after appearing before a grand jury.

Troy Police say the victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the leg, which he incurred as he ran from Lanier.

Lanier had been remanded to the Rennselaer County Jail without bail and remained there awaiting his sentencing.
