ALBANY - March is Women's History Month, and some accomplished women in aviation were recognized at Albany International airport Wednesday.
One of those women is Kathy Humphries, the New York State Police Department's only female chopper pilot. She says working in a male-dominated field, such as aviation, does not intimidate her.
"It's a lot of fun. It's an important job, and when we go out on a call, it doesn't matter what gender you are; it's about helping that person, and getting them where they need to be as efficiently as possible."
Humphries is an 18-year veteran of the NYS Police force, which has 383 women on its roster.
