Schenectady middle school goes into brief lockdown

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - Schenectady's Mont Pleasant Middle School went into lockdown for a short time Tuesday morning after the Schenectady Police Department says a student was acting out in the hallway.

Officers were then called in to restrain the student. At the same time that incident was taking place, a staff member who has a pre-existing health problem began to have heart problems.

The student is being taken to the hospital for an evaluation. The staff member was treated on scene by medical workers.

Police said they were unsure if the student hurt himself or anyone else.

The situation is now over.
