Girl, 11, struck by car in Albany, driver arrested

ALBANY, N.Y. - Police in Albany have arrested a man they say struck an 11-year-old child who was with his car after he ran the red light of a stopped school bus.

Officers responded to the 300-block of Livingston Avenue just before 5 p.m. Friday after they say the driver, 36-year-old Eugene Mobley, failed to stop for a stopped school bus with its flashers on. Mobley subsequently struck the 11-year-old victim as she attempted to cross the street.

The girl was treated on scene by Albany Fire Department personnel and transported to Albany Medical Center for treatment of a broken leg.

Mobley was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license, reckless assault, and cited for passing a stopped school bus.
