ALBANY, N.Y. – Capital Region residents have been stopping by Colson's News Center on Broadway all week for Powerball tickets, hoping the store has a bit of luck left over for them.
Colson's News Center is a convenience store known to many as a lottery ‘jackpot' location. Businesses all over have large pools of people coming together to buy mass quantities of tickets, and it's just that strategy that's made this store a winning location before.
On March 25, a group of people bought a set of Mega Millions tickets and won big - $319 million to be exact, and since that big win, this store has been a popular location for group ticket sales.
"It's a dream. It makes you look forward to something. You know even though you know in the back of your mind that you're probably not going to win, but the idea is that maybe you will win, and you look forward to tomorrow to see if you won and that's what makes it exciting," said Kenneth Weden of Latham.
If you think Colson's could be a lucky location for you, they're open and selling tickets until 9 p.m. Saturday.
