Police: Father coached son to falsely report sexual abuse

Posted: Updated:

GREENWICH, N.Y. – A Queensbury man is under arrest after police say he coached his young son to tell school staff that he was sexually abused by his mother's current boyfriend.

State Police Greenwich BCI arrested David A. Colvin, 48, of 24 Merritt Rd. in Queensbury for Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Falsely Reporting an Incident in the 3rd-Degree as a result of an investigation into a reported sexual assault of a child.

Colvin, locked in a custody dispute with the child's mother, coached his 4-year-old son into falsely disclosing to school staff that he had been sexually assaulted by his mother's current boyfriend.

Colvin was issued an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Queensbury court on April 1.
