ALBANY, N.Y. --Students
from all over the Capital Region are getting a look at ancient Egypt Thursday
as a couple of mummies go on display.
The students were at the Albany
Institute of History and Art as researchers reveled some exciting news about
the mummies they've been studying since last March.
A group of children bit
into cupcakes and the icing color revealed the sex of one of the mummies as
male - but originally scientists believed they were a male and female.
Detailed CT scans showed
him to be middle aged as well and those involved in the research say they
couldn't be more excited.
The mummies will be part
of a major exhibition that is set to open at the institute on in September that
will run until June 2014.
