Saratoga woman charged with abusing animals

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - A Saratoga Springs woman has been arrested after four dogs were found to be living in deplorable conditions at her home.

Saratoga Springs Police arrested 41-year-old Amy Kraus, of Spa Circle, on Tuesday in relation to an animal cruelty warrant. Police responded to her home earlier this month after receiving complaints regarding abused animals.

Upon arrival, officers found deplorable living conditions and multiple animals that appeared to be malnourished and in distress.  The SSPD animal control officer responded to the scene and four dogs were removed from the home and transported to a local veterinary hospital for treatment.

Kraus was charged with Overdriving, Torturing, and Injuring Animals, a misdemeanor, as well as a couple violations.
