GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a New York man who served time in prison for kidnapping is back behind bars after he stalked a Queensbury woman and led police on a chase that ended in a crash.
Police tell The Post-Star of Glens Falls that 46-year-old Michael DeBarbieri had been stalking a woman in Queensbury.
Officials say the woman contacted police after he followed her vehicle Sunday night. State police spotted his vehicle but troopers say DeBarbieri sped away. The chase ended when he drove into a tree in the city of Glens Falls. No one was injured.
Authorities say DeBarbieri served more than six years in state prison for impersonating an FBI officer to kidnap a woman. He has been charged with stalking, menacing, resisting arrest and driving while intoxicated.
