
ALBANY, N.Y. -- Catholic Bishops from across New York State will meet with Governor Andrew Cuomo Tuesday to discuss bills and local funding.
First on the list of discussion topics, a yet-to-be introduced abortion bill which the bishops strongly oppose. Education funding, housing funding and humane treatment for jailed individuals will also be discussed.
The bishops will meet with Sen. Dean Skelos, Sen. Jeff Klein, and Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver later in the afternoon.
Cardinal Timothy Michael Dolan, archbishop of New York, will not be present since he is still in Rome for the Pope's formal Mass of Installation.
