QUEENSBURY, N.Y. - A father and son were taken to the hospital after a car accident on Aviation Road in Queensbury Monday morning.
The Warren County Sheriff's Office says the accident happened around 7 a.m. when the driver, 30-year-old Nicholas Melucci, of Queensbury, was traveling east
on Aviation Road and lost consciousness for an unknown medical reason. Melucci's
1996 Toyota SUV then traveled across the two oncoming lanes of traffic, continued
off the north side of the highway and struck a large concrete and wooden sign
structure.
Melucci was extricated from his
vehicle by Queensbury firefighters using the "Jaws of Life" tool and transported by helicopter to Albany Medical
Center.
His son, 11-year-old Nathanial, was in the front seat and taken to Glens Falls Hospital after the crash.
The accident remains under investigation.
