New chief of Hudson Police Department sworn in

HUDSON, N.Y. – L. Edward Moore was sworn in as the new Chief of the Hudson Police Department at a public ceremony in Hudson Monday.

Police Commissioner Gary Graziano swore Moore in to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Hudson police Chief Ellis Richardson.

"Ed Moore has had a long and distinguished career in law enforcement during which he acquired unique and valuable skills to serve the City of Hudson and our police force well during this time of transition," said Graziano.

Moore's appointment is provisional pending a selection of a permanent chief at a later time.

The ceremony was held at 11 a.m. in the Central Fire Station located at 77 North 7th St. in Hudson.
