BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. – Tanya Sleight and her son Elijah were laid to rest Monday, just one week after they were killed in an Amsterdam crash.
A van crossed the center line on State Route 67 and collided head-on with a car carrying 33-year-old Sleight, her three children, and a family friend, Shyara Concepcion, 39.
Two children, 2-year-old Naomi Sleight and 9-year-old Elijah Sleight were airlifted to Albany Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Elijah died as a result of his injuries on Monday. Naomi is still listed in critical condition, and her father told NEWS10 in a previous interview that she's doing better than expected.
A third child, 7-year-old Matthew Sleight, was treated for minor injuries.
The funeral service was held at Christ Episcopal Church, located at 15 West High St. in Ballston Spa at 10 a.m.
