FORT ANN, N.Y. – One man was ticketed and three injured in a
Fort Ann crash after a driver fell asleep at the wheel.
According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, on
Saturday at 12:57 p.m., a two car head on personal injury accident occurred on
State Route 149, in the Town of Fort Ann.
An eastbound vehicle, driven by Marjan Z. Zaman, 21, of
Marlboro, N.J., crossed over into the westbound lane and struck a vehicle
driven by Derrick S. Davey, 55, of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
Zaman had fallen asleep prior to crossing into the oncoming
lane. He was not injured but a
passenger, Karishma L. Smart, 22, of Chatham, N.J. was transported to Glens Falls Hospital
and later to Albany Med for facial lacerations and a possible broken back.
Davey and a passenger in his vehicle were transported to
Glens Falls Hospital with minor injuries.
Zaman was issued a traffic ticket for failure to use a
designated lane.
Fort Ann Fire and EMS along with Fort Edward EMS assisted at
the scene.
