SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Both pro and anti-gun protestors are expected at the Arms Fair in Saratoga Springs this weekend.
In its 30th year, the Saratoga Springs Gun and Militaria show draws collectors and dealers of antique, classic and investment grade firearms from all over the northeast.
But it will also attract those in support of the NY SAFE Act and those who stand against it.
Saratogians for Gun Safety, the Saratoga MoveOn Council, Citizens Action Capital Distict and other pro-gun control groups will rally at the show beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday. The groups want an end to gun shows at the city center.
Assemblyman Phil Steck will speak to the ralliers at noon.
The organizer of the gun show, Dave Petronis, has told local media that he intends to organize a pro-gun rally in response.
All guns sold at the event will go through federal background checks, and organizers remind attendees that guns must be cased or covered in parking lots.
The event will be held at the Saratoga Springs City Center with a special members-only preview on Friday, and general admission on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
