EAST GREENBUSH, N.Y. - The East Greenbush Police Department has made an arrest in connection to the burglary at Grand Premier Tire last month.
Police allege 41-year-old Michael Lasher, of East Greenbush, forcibly broke an entry door and once inside, he stole a tip jar from the counter and fled the scene. The February 28th incident was captured on surveillance video and aired on NEWS10. Police say as a result of media coverage, several calls were made regarding the identity of Lasher.
The owner of Grand Premier Tire, located at 591 Columbia Turnpike, said
in their 31 years of business he's never seen anything like this happen,
and it was all captured on camera.
Owner Joseph Pupello says the tip jar has been on the counter for about
ten years without incident, and at the time it contained several
hundred dollars.
Lasher has been charged with Burglary 3rd-degree, Criminal Mischief 3rd-degree, and Petit Larceny.
