ALBANY, N.Y. - The 18-year-old man accused of stabbing a State Trooper pleaded not guilty to the crime in Albany County Court Wednesday.
Albany County District Attorney David Soares says 18-year-old Eric Green of Brooklyn has been arraigned on charges of one count of Attempted Murder 1st-degree, one count of Assault 1st-degree, one count of Aggravated Assault Upon a Police Officer, and two counts of Robbery 1st-degree.
Green was arrested last week after police say on Sunday, March 3rd he approached Trooper Rodney Smith outside the Empire State Plaza and stabbed him in the neck with a steak knife. Green is also accused of stealing Trooper Smith's police radio and attempting to grab his gun.
Green is currently being held without bail.
