LANSINGBURGH, N.Y. -- Snowman's
kicked off their 2013 season Saturday and dozens came out to welcome the
opening.
The ice cream shop has
been a staple in the community for 60 years and usually opens in early March.
Many in the community say
they look forward to snowman's reopening every year because it's a good way to
kick those wintry blues.
"Now we're ready to go. I got my lighter
jacket on. I feel great. I mean this does a lot for everyone," said Loretta
Fredricks, a Lansingburgh resident.
"We already had a good opening so far the sun
is shining, the snows going from the parking lot -- I',m happy," said Snowman's
owner John murphy.
Murphy says every year
around grand opening time there's always been a snowstorm -- and this year
wasn't any different.
The shop will be open throughout the spring
and summer season.
