Police: Woman charged with DWI after accident

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Saratoga Springs Police officers arrested a 35-year-old Clifton park woman and charged her with DWI after they say she crashed her car and it caught on fire.

Officers responding to a one-car accident on South Broadway at its intersection with West Fenlon saw a black Acura fully engulfed in flames and the driver standing near the vehicle.

According to police, the driver, identified as Megan M. Forbes, 35, of Clifton park, appeared to uninjured and highly intoxicated.

She was interviewed by officers and placed under arrest for DWI and transported to the police department where she was processed and held pending a City Court arraignment.

Forbes faces charges of misdemeanor DWI, having a BAC More than .08, Improper Lane Use, and Unreasonable Speed.

There were no other injuries associated with the accident.
