GLENVILLE, N.Y. - The Schenectady County Department of Environmental Health has issued a boil water order for portions of the Town of Glenville as a precautionary measure in response to a water main break and loss of water pressure.
RESIDENTS IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS MUST BOIL WATER BEFORE USE:
House #s 353 thru 417 Saratoga Rd. (Rt. 50)
All houses on Edmel Rd.
All houses on Glendale Rd.
All houses on Stottle Ln.
All houses in Pine Ridge Trailer Court
Glenville Terrace Housing Complex
DO NOT DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOILING IT FIRST. Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one (1) minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water certified for sale by the New York State Department of Health. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills most bacteria and other organisms in the water.
The broken water main is currently undergoing repair. You will be informed via the media when tests confirm that no harmful bacteria are in the system and you no longer need to boil your water. It is anticipated that the problem will be resolved within a few days.
