ALBANY, N.Y. - Police in Albany have arrested a 21-year-old following
a large altercation at the Times Union Center on Monday night.
Around 9:20 p.m. on Monday, officers
assigned to the Time Union Center on South Pearl Street observed a
large group pushing and shoving each other on the second floor atrium.
During
the incident, police allegedly observed 21-year-old William Burden, of Albany, pushing and punching
several people. He was taken into custody and charged with Disorderly Conduct. Following his arrest, officers were able to deescalate the
situation and disperse the group.
Shortly after the incident, hospital staff from St. Mary's
Hospital in Troy notified the Albany police regarding an 18-year-old male victim that had come to the Emergency Room with a laceration to his facial area. Information was
developed that the injury occurred during the altercation at the Times Union
Center.
According to police, the victim was uncooperative with
detectives. He was treated at the hospital and released.
The investigation is still ongoing.
