ALBANY, N.Y. - The Albany County Sheriff's Office has arrested a Rome woman for allegedly sending a control substance to her boyfriend, an inmate in the Albany County Correctional Facility.
The Sheriff's Office says 36-year-old Shannon Formikell sent a control substance "suboxone" into the correctional facility fixed to an envelope behind the postage, which is how staff found it. Investigators interviewed her, and she admitted to having correspondence with her boyfriend asking her to send the drugs.
Formikell is charged with Attempted Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance, a felony, Promoting Prison Contraband, and Conspiracy, both misdemeanors. She was remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 bail.
The Sheriff says Formikell's boyfriend will be charged Wednesday with a misdemeanor.
