GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. -- A 24-year old has pleaded guilty to
attempted assault stemming from an attack with a metal pole.
Cory Blinsinger, 24-years old from Stevers Mills Road,
Broadalbin plead guilty to felony Attempted Assault in the 1st-Degree
after an attack on S. Judson Street on Jan. 7, 2012 at 3:08 a.m. in the City of
Gloversville.
According to the D.A., Blinsinger followed the victim after
he had words with him at a party. He then struck the victim twice in the head
with a metal pole. The victim was sent via helicopter to Albany Medical
Center, where he was treated for an open skull fracture and had a titanium
plate surgically inserted in his head to aid in his recovery.
Blinsinger is scheduled to be sentenced on May 14, 2013 at
9:30 a.m. and will receive a 4-year prison sentence for the attack.
